The Trick (2021 film)[edit]

Hi. Thanks for creating the article The Trick (2021 film). The article certainly meets Wikipedia's notability criteria. However, as part of the New Page Reviewing process, I came across some serious issues:

  • WP:COPYVIO: The plot summary in the article was copied entirely from an external source. That is a copyright violation which Wikipedia takes very seriously. You need to summarize the plot in your own words. As per Wikipedia's copyright policy, I've removed all the copied material.
  • Please take the time to check what your references carefully. In the "Plot" section, the cited ref linked to a completely unrelated article about another film called Our Father. In the "Reception" section, none of the direct quotes were formatted properly (refer to MOS:QUOTE) and every single quote was misattributed to the wrong reviewer. For example, you quoted a review by Ed Cumming in The Independent, but attributed it to Harry Fletcher in the Metro instead.
  • Wikipedia:Naming conventions (films): I've moved the page from The Trick (2021) to The Trick (2021 film) as per Wikipedia's naming conventions for film articles.

Please take note of these issues when creating other articles in the future. It would also be great if you could continue to work on this article and improve it, especially in light of all the content I had to remove to address the above issues. Regards. John Markus Ayuba moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, John Markus Ayuba, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ... discospinster talk 20:20, 5 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
