Battle of Aboh 1851[edit]

I get your perspective. I used to always try to unilaterally move my articles from draftspace into mainspace. However I got into a lot of trouble over it. I am going to move it back to draftspace one last time, and I really sympathize with you, but you may lose your ability to move pages or even be blocked if you do this. Do not take these privileges for granted as they make wikipedia much better to use. Immanuelle ❤️💚💙 (talk to the cutest Wikipedian) 05:23, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Remember you can always resubmit the page and if it is improved it will likely get approved Immanuelle ❤️💚💙 (talk to the cutest Wikipedian) 05:24, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, so are you telling me the vast majority of people didn't just move their drafts into mainspace? Is there anything wrong with my drafts? is it the grammars? Sources? I've found a lot of wiki pages of battles with way less sources, can you at least give me a reason as to why my page of all spaces keep getting moved to drafts? Oluwafemi1726 (talk) 05:26, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Oluwafemi1726 It's part of the reviewing process. There is something called New pages patrol that looks over new pages in mainspace and makes them into drafts if they are not considered good enough. New users have to go through a process called Articles for creation which is a bit more strict to get a draft into mainspace. If a page is moved into draftspace then you have to go through articles for creation.
Some users just move their drafts into mainspace, but if they are declined, or moved from mainspace to draftspace they are not allowed to do this.
I used to make a lot of articles and move them back to mainspace when new page patrol move them to draftspace. That caused me problems and I lost my ability to move pages that way. About a year later I am working to getting it back, but I really regret doing it since it makes it a lot harder to use wikipedia.
As for your current draft I believe it is notable, but I think it needs two more sources to get approved. 3 is generally seen as the minimum number of sources, but if you can find 50 then add 50 and it will almost certainly get through. Thanks for the explanation, "As for your current draft I believe it is notable, but I think it needs two more sources to get approved. 3 is generally seen as the minimum number of sources, but if you can find 50 then add 50 and it will almost certainly get through". Again this is a battle narrated, and written by one person, which is literally talked about in the first section of the wikipedia, it was a Scottish explorer. I CANT add any more soruces, litterally. i still think it is a notable part of nigerian history to add. i went quite into detail though about the source, and all my links go directly to the section, i was talking about. Oluwafemi1726 (talk) 05:40, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Oluwafemi1726 they do not need to be direct sources. In fact I've had drafts declined because I only cited primary sources. I've written several articles on things with only one primary source. The key is to have sources discussing the primary source. If you know a Nigerian history textbook that mentions it you can cite it, same with a history book generally that mentions it. If you can find two books like that then they establish that the event is important and even though only one person wrote about it, it is worth an article Immanuelle ❤️💚💙 (talk to the cutest Wikipedian) 05:46, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

December 2023[edit]

Information icon Hi Oluwafemi1726! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Cut and paste articles[edit]

Hi, at Battle of Pamo and Mugbamugba War you’ve created new articles y cutting and pasting from a blog site. First, please don’t ever create or add to articles by cutting and pasting text. All of your contributions have to be in your own words and you must not breach anyone”s copyright. Second, the site you’re copying from is on our spam blacklist as it’s known to be unreliable, so you can’t base articles on what it says. Thanks Mccapra (talk) 05:28, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

hello, what site did i use that is in the spam, or blacklist? The first site i used is google books, and it has an ISBN, the second cite i used is from archives, which is from the same book, which is a real historical book. it is not an "article", And i apologize, i will change up the writing so its not a cutting and pasting, but it i Oluwafemi1726 (talk) 05:48, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Battle of Pamo, Mugbamugba War requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://ia801306.us.archive.org/4/items/historyofyorubas00john/historyofyorubas00john.pdf. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I have sent you a note about a page you started[edit]

Hello, Oluwafemi1726. Thank you for your work on Battle of Pamo. Klbrain, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

That block of text from Johnson's book doesn't seem rescuable here, so I think that just a redirect to the History of the Ilorin Emirate, with a reference to the text there, will help readers more.

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Klbrain}}. Please remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Klbrain (talk) 09:04, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Can you explain what you mean by it isn't rescuable, the SOURCE is literally on google book, when you click the link it takes you to the DIRECT page, why exactly was my page merged with Ilorin, when it is a separate piece of history that has its own page?
